Animal trafficking causes untold suffering to the stolen individual animals and their families; it strips the forests of the vital biodiversity needed to maintain our planet’s ecosystems, which we all need to sustain life on earth. It is taking some species to the brink of extinction. This is an emergency. This is what ADI is doing to fight back.

ADI has investigated and exposed the illegal wildlife markets, the bushmeat trade and the traffic in exotic animals. We work with wildlife officials and have helped rescue hundreds of animals including monkeys, birds, kinkajous, bears, tortoises, turtles and coatis. Many have been returned to the wild, others are now cared for by ADI in sanctuaries.
