Protecting the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary from wildfires

Help increase our protection.

Our sanctuary team regularly goes out to fight fires in the region, helping neighbours and protecting wildlife as well as fighting fires that threaten the sanctuary and put the animals at risk. We are grateful to our neighbours who help us in return.

We have a range of fire-fighting equipment, maintain multiple fire breaks in the grass and rehearse our fire-fighting protocols so that we act quickly to ensure the animals are safe. However, with the frequency of fires increasing with climate change, we want to increase our protection.

These include:

  • Additional water points and firefighting tanks
  • Land soaking sprinkler systems on our perimeter
  • Additional equipment including blowers, fire extinguishers and firefighters
  • More protective clothing for our firefighters, such as face masks and gauntlets

Please give what you can.
